Get ready for one of the biggest live urban events ever featuring the cream of the garage scene, many of whom have gone onto successful solo careers….jointly the acts featured tonight have produced or contributed to massive hit recordings such as ‘Execute’ (Oxide & Neutrino), ‘Oh No’, ‘They Don’t Know’ (So Solid) and Romeo’s debut ‘Solid Love’ - and they keep coming:
A forthcoming debut solo set from So Solid’s first lady Lisa Maffia is eagerly awaited and word is she is set for very big things. With her RnB and ragga influenced sound, the single ‘All Over’ is out now on Independiente, and has already been critically acclaimed by the press. Headed by Megaman, Romeo, Lisa Maffia, Oxide and Asher D plus a whole heap of supporting PAs, MCs and DJs tonight promises to be a truly awesome event by any standards, going right through to 3 am.
In the last few years these artists and their associates have managed to take garage from what was considered an underground movement, into the previously unexplored mainstream. In Aug 2001 the single ‘21 Seconds’ by the So Solid Crew took the charts by storm rocketing straight to number one….sending shockwaves to the music industry and the new sound that young London was producing. From pirate airways to the national charts, UK Garage had been firmly put on the map…the evolution continues..
