Webchat with MC Harvey and MC Romeo.

Elisha Delpratt from South Wimbledon asks: You are all young and upcoming. Have your friends and family supported you?

Romeo: Yeah my brother and my mum have supported me to the max! Everyone has had support from family and friends - moral support as well.

George Jameson from Somerset asks: Who came up with the name 'So Solid Crew'?

Romeo: Megaman - we were called SOS at first but there was a DJ called that on another station. He thought of the name and everyone agreed that it was alright.

Harshil from London asks: How many members are there in 'So Solid Crew'?

Harvey: It's 30 members strong. We have our own label, artists within that and DJs and producers.,.

Kayleigh from England, Essex asks: How long have u been MCin for?

Romeo: I've been doing it for about 4 and 1/2 years - I started at Garage Nation

Harvey: I started at Garage Delight and I've been doing it for 3 years

Talia from London asks: Is there any rivalry in SSC? We all think u2 r the best looking : )

Harvey: No - we just have normal arguements like any family but no rivalry, no way.

chris p from london asks: were all 10 of you in the same studio together when you recorded the single?

Harvey: No, we all went in at different points. Romeo was smart and went in last, switched his phone off and came in with that 'sweet boy' lyric..

mike o'connell from south london asks: how did u get to be sooooooo good?

Romeo: If you've got a talent use it. We never started off good but practivce makes perfect, innit?

Harvey: I used to be too hyper!

rav from london asks: is major label involvement in the garage scene diluting a real movement and will the underground sustain it's intergrity through this?

Romeo: Nah - the reason is cause if the label understands what you want to do and the way you want to show yourself.. As long as they understand. We'd never water-down our sound.

MC SQUARED from Southampton asks: 21 seconds is a wicked track although you can see money gone into the video your still keeping it raw is that important to you

Harvey: Cause, we're showing you were we've come from. We're not a manufactured group, we're real. It's 21 Seconds to describe your character. I hate people trying to copy my style, other fake MCs just wait in line, alright!

Nikki Jessani from Luton asks: so who were the first outta uselot who started it all out?

Romeo: DJ PDS and MC Mac. Those 2 started it.

Romeo: Then eventualy Mega joined 2 weeks later and I joined after that. Then it just grew in time. They did the groundwork and it just came together...

Brian from Putney asks: What would you have to do to join SSC

Harvey: You don't just join like that, it's a family thing. If you've got real talent, we'll check you out. We're trying to sort out all the people in the crew now and we'll take it from there

Harvey: Eventually other people will join, but later...

Teo from from NY asks: who would like to work with- Wu Tang or Public enemy and Why

Harvey: Wu-Tang. No disrespect to PE, but they ain't really from my time. We'd definitely like to work with Wu-Tang if it came along

Tanya from bristol asks: Who is the oldest and who is the youngest in So Solid Crew?

Romeo: PDS is the oldest and Skip and Thrust are the youngest: 8 and 10 - they're all DJs...

Brum from Birmingham asks: When are you lot coming up North for some gigs?

Harvey: We've just been focussing on the big events, but depending on our chart position on Monday we should be doing Reading, Leeds and Great Yarmouth. We want to go to Manchester, Birmingham and Africa...

Kriss from New Cross asks: what are the hottest new unsigned garage acts at the moment?

Romeo: Pay As You Go as a collective. Mr Viper - he needs to be signed 'cause he's got too much talent. A young rapper called Nathan - Mad Kida...

Harvey: He's raw street talent!

Jamie from London asks: How do you rate Ed Case's chances now that he's got a deal with a major label?

Harvey: I met him the other day. No disrespect but I don't really feel his music. It ain't my style of music, it's too soft for me. But he's a good producer and I wish him luck.

tony from bristol asks: what do you think of the stanton warriors sound-would you consider having one of your record remixed by them

Romeo: Who are they?

RiChY bOy from IPSwich asks: who would you consider to be the best emcee in the crew, and do you think commerciaslity proves you are better than heartkess cru and the pay as u go cru?

Romeo: Nah, it doesn't mean we're better than anyone. We're just doing our thing, broadening peoples horizons and letting people know that it can be accomplished.

Romeo: When it comes to MCs in So Solid...

Harvey: My favourite are Romeo and Asher D

Romeo: Everyone's got their own styles....

Harvey: Romeo's my favourite when he decides to get out of bed...

Terry from London asks: How come you guys sell loads of records and people like El-B only shift a couple of thousand?

Romeo: We've got the younger generation on our side, that's what it is... ask them. Speak to the kids.

DD from South London asks: Romeo why are you wearing you hood? lol, and how come it says on the posters the '21 Seconds' is out now, but all the shops say it's out next week ?

Romeo: I'm just chillin...late nights. 21 Seconds is out next week, buy and let's knock Atomic Kitten off the top.

Saph Sargeant from Walthamstow, London asks: When are you releasing your album, what is it called and what is the main theme of it?

Harvey: October. The theme is life in general: haters, girls, money, the industry. It's messy and catchy. You don't know what the name is.

Romeo: Oxide and Neutrino aren't on it but that's record label politics. Speak to East West about that...

Kriss from New Cross asks: is this your first ever webchat?

Romeo: No. I've done one before.

Harvey: I'm not interested in computers, I just play 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'

Romeo: and 'Drug Wars'

Chris Manes from Southampton asks: your sound s very unique how have you manged it and whos got the finalesa on the sound

Romeo: The producer has the final say, or whoever is doing the track - so long as everyone is happy. All the different types of music that we've listened to from back in the day combined into one.

Harvey: To create a new sound - So Solid sound.

nikki from luton asks: there are loads of under 18s who love ure work but can't get 2 see u lot @ raves an stuff 4 obvious reasons...wot else do u lot do 2 give de kids wot dey want?

Harvey: We've done lots of under 18s

Romeo: When it comes to CDs we're going to do our own thing with live recordings..

Harvey: Just be patient and we'll be coming to your town soon.

Harvey: Thanks to everyone that's supported us and lets knock Attomic Kitten off the top of the charts!
